Torsoplasty

A torso plasty combines body contouring techniques after significant weight loss to correct excess skin in stages.

Let us guide you

After significant weight loss, often following bariatric surgery, severely stretched skin usually does not shrink back sufficiently.

A torso plasty combines various body contouring techniques and is often performed in multiple stages.

The sequence is tailored to BMI, general clinical condition, stable weight, and nutritional status.

When is this treatment appropriate?

Stable weight for 3 to 6 months

Optimal nutritional and metabolic status

Discreet torso-beeld voor torsoplastie.

How does the treatment work?

A lower body lift combines circumferential abdominoplasty, thigh lift, and butt lift.

An upper body lift combines breast lift, flankplasty, and arm lift. A medial thigh lift can be planned separately.

All sutures are placed subcutaneously. Tacking sutures help reduce the risk of postoperative fluid accumulation.

Lower body lift

Combination of circumferential abdominoplasty, thigh lift, and butt lift.

Upper body lift

Combination of breast lift, flankplasty, and arm lift.

Staged plan

The sequence follows BMI and general clinical condition.

  1. Consultation

We take a medical history, perform an examination and measurements, and discuss the combination of techniques and possible complications.

  2. Preparation

Weight must be stable for three to six months; nutritional and metabolic status must be optimal.

  3. The procedure

The operation is performed under general anesthesia. Hospital stay depends on the extent and combination of procedures.

  4. First week

A compression garment remains in place until the first follow-up. Drains are removed when drainage is sufficiently low.

  5. Recovery

Afterward, wear an abdominal binder or compression garment for approximately six weeks. Avoid strenuous activity for six weeks; return to work depends on the procedures.
