Thigh lift

A thigh lift removes loose skin on the thighs and improves the contour with targeted skin excision and liposuction.

Let us guide you

Age, extreme weight loss, or pregnancy can cause excess and loose skin on the thighs.

Exercise firms the muscles but does not correct skin laxity.

A thigh lift can remove most of the loose skin and refine the thigh contour.

When is this treatment appropriate?

Discreet dijbeeld voor dijlift.

How does the treatment work?

A medial thigh lift uses an L-shaped scar from the groin crease toward the inner thigh.

With extreme excess skin, a lateral thigh lift on the outer side may also be needed. The procedure is combined with liposuction to preserve contour and vascular structures.

Medial correction

Excision from the groin crease toward the inner thigh.

Lateral correction

With extensive excess skin, an excision on the outer side can be added.

Refine contour

Liposuction improves the contour and helps preserve small lymphatic and blood vessels.

  1. Consultation

We take a medical history, perform an examination, and take measurements. Weight must be stable.

  2. Preparation

If you smoke, stop at least six weeks before the procedure and until two weeks afterward.

  3. The procedure

The operation takes approximately two hours under sedation or general anesthesia; for limited procedures, day hospitalization is possible.

  4. First week

A compression garment remains in place until the first follow-up within the week. Preventive antibiotics are prescribed for the first three days.

  5. Recovery

Wear a compression garment for six weeks and compression stockings for three weeks. Avoid strenuous activity for six weeks; work can usually be resumed after approximately ten days.

Frequently asked questions

Which thigh lift do I need?

That depends on the location and extent of the excess skin. A medial or, with more excess skin, lateral thigh lift can be discussed.

Why may heparin injections be advised?

Depending on your personal risk profile, they may be suggested to reduce the risk of thrombophlebitis.

How long do the scars take to heal?

The scars need approximately one year to settle; in the early phase, we advise silicone sheets.
