Brow lift

A brow lift or forehead lift restores the position and shape of a low-set brow.

Let us guide you

A low-set brow may affect only the lateral side or the full length of the brow.

As a result, the upper eyelids may appear to overhang, while eyelid correction alone would not achieve the desired result.

The goal is a brow position and shape that aesthetically suits the gaze.

When is this treatment appropriate?

During the consultation, we assess whether this treatment fits your situation.

How does the treatment proceed?

With a transpalpebral brow lift, the lateral part of the brow is lifted through the same incision used for upper eyelid correction.

When the full brow needs reshaping and repositioning, a direct brow lift can be performed through an excision at the upper border of the brow.

A gliding brow lift uses two to four small incisions in the hairline. An endoscopic-type forehead lift lifts the forehead and brows in the deep plane through four incisions in the hairline.

Lateral lift

Transpalpebral via the eyelid crease, usually combined with upper eyelid correction.

Full brow

Direct brow lift via the upper border of the brow.

Forehead and brows

Gliding or endoscopic-type lift via incisions in the hairline.

  1. Consultation

We assess which part of the brow is low and choose the technique, anesthesia, and scar placement together.

  2. Preparation

With a direct brow lift, minoxidil is applied daily to the brows during the month beforehand.

  3. The procedure

Transpalpebral and direct brow lifts take about 30 minutes under local anesthesia. A gliding lift takes about 45 minutes under local anesthesia; a forehead lift is performed with sedation or general anesthesia.

  4. Initial recovery

Swelling may occur during the first days. With the gliding technique, skin sutures are removed after two to three days; other sutures usually after one week.

  5. Follow-up

After a direct brow lift, minoxidil is used for another three months to promote hair growth through the scar. With a forehead lift, the drain is removed after two days.

Frequently asked questions

When is eyelid correction alone not enough?

When the overhang is mainly caused by a low-set brow, the brow must also be lifted to achieve the desired effect.

Where are the scars?

That depends on the technique: in the eyelid crease, at the upper border of the brow, or in the hairline. The location is discussed beforehand.

When are sutures removed?

With a direct brow lift after about one week. With a gliding brow lift, skin sutures are removed after two to three days and the remaining sutures after about one week.
