How is lipofilling performed?

Fat is usually harvested from the abdomen, flanks, or thighs, similar to classic liposuction. To damage the cells as little as possible, fat cells are harvested atraumatically through a special system.

The fat is then washed in a closed system and reinjected through very small openings. A slight overcorrection is usually performed because about 30% of the injected fat is reabsorbed.

Macrofat lipofilling for breast corrections, buttock corrections, and body contouring procedures. Microfat lipofilling for facial corrections and eyelid corrections. Nanofat for skin improvement and scars.

  1. Consultation

We discuss whether lipofilling alone is sufficient or is used as an addition.

  2. Before the procedure

The donor area and amount of fat help determine whether local or general anesthesia is appropriate.

  3. The procedure

For larger volumes, the procedure is best performed under general anesthesia. For small amounts, local anesthesia may suffice.

  4. Recovery at home

The procedure is outpatient or performed as day surgery.

  5. Follow-up

After surgery, there are usually few complaints, depending on the impact of the liposuction. Sometimes a second correction is needed.
