Skin lesion removal

Skin lesions are carefully removed with attention to the least noticeable scar possible and, where indicated, histopathological examination.

Let us guide you

Both cosmetically bothersome and suspicious skin lesions can be removed by the plastic surgeon.

Incisions are placed according to aesthetic principles wherever possible to keep scars as inconspicuous as possible.

How does the treatment proceed?

Many procedures are performed under local anesthesia. Suspicious lesions are usually sent for histopathological examination on the recommendation of the dermatologist.

When an additional safety margin proves necessary, a second excision may follow. On important aesthetic areas of the face, excision can be guided during surgery with frozen sections.

If simple closure is not possible, we discuss reconstructive options in advance.

Assessment

The lesion is assessed clinically; for deeper structures, ultrasound is usually requested first.
